I'm delighted to announce that Frontline Publishing have just released two new paperback editions from my back-catalogue.

These are Marching to the Drums - a compendium of eye-witness accounts by British soldiers of the nineteenth-century wars of Empire - and The Anatomy of the Zulu Army. I've always been particularly proud of the latter as it remains the only full-length study of how the nineteenth-century Zulu army was raised, trained, organised, armed and equipped, and how it functioned in battle, not least under the challenge of the British invasion in 1879. The new edition is tweaked in a few areas, notably in the appendix listing Zulu amabutho and their shield colours.
